ABOUT CALIBRATE
A steady hand when the financial work gets complicated.
Calibrate Accounting & Advisory was founded by Chad Bennett, CPA, after more than two decades across public accounting, corporate finance and advisory.
Chad began his career at Grant Thornton and later worked inside companies and alongside leadership teams through SEC reporting, technical accounting, close and reporting challenges, audits, system transitions, growth and periods of change. That combination matters: Calibrate brings both the discipline of public accounting and the practical perspective that comes from being responsible for the work inside an operating business.
That mix matters. Chad has been on both sides of the audit request list — the auditor asking for support and the finance leader trying to produce it while the close, reporting deadlines, and the rest of the business keep moving.
Calibrate is deliberately hands-on. Clients work directly with Chad.

HOW CALIBRATE WORKS
Those three ideas are simple on purpose.
BE USEFUL.
Start with what is actually getting in the way. Fix the work that matters. Don’t create a project where a practical answer will do.
BE HUMAN.
The people doing the work usually know where it hurts. Listen to them. Understand what the deadline or control looks like in practice, not just on paper.
BE CLEAR.
Translate the accounting into what people need to know: what changed, why it matters, what the options are, and what should happen next.
Technical accounting matters. So do systems, handoffs and the people working inside them. Many finance problems don’t live neatly inside one job or department; they show up in the spaces between them.

WHY CALIBRATE
Sometimes the work has outgrown the way it’s being done.
Processes, systems and reporting routines that once made perfect sense can quietly outlive the business they were built for. Calibrate helps teams step back, understand what the work is really trying to accomplish, and decide what should stay, what should change, and what no longer earns the time it consumes.
For owners and CFOs, the question is different: what do the numbers mean for the decisions ahead? The numbers should help you understand where the business is, what changed, what is putting pressure on cash or performance, and what choices are in front of you.
Confidence comes from understanding.
The goal isn’t to impress. It’s to be useful.
Let’s start with what needs attention.
If something in the accounting or finance function isn’t working the way it should, start with a straightforward conversation about what’s happening, what’s getting in the way, and what would actually help.
